About the Journal

Journal of Cerebrovascular Disease(CN 11-9366/R, ISSN 2096-1111) is a quarterly publication of Chinese Medical Association, Which is executed by the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University. It publishes peer-reviewed, open accessed original papers, reviews and editorials concerned with clinical practice and research in the fields of cerebrovascular disease. The papers cover all research study types, including original research, editorials, review articles, brief communications, clinical summary, clinical images, meta-analysis and case reports. Journal of Cerebrovascular Disease is supported by two institutes: Chinese Medical Association (CMA) and the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University.

CMA established in 1915, is a non-profit national academic organization in China. It is an important social force in the development of medical science and technology, and a linkage between the government and medical professionals. Nowadays, it has 88 specialty societies and more than 677,000 members in China.

Zhejiang University is consistently ranked as one of the top universities in China known for its leadership in research and education. The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University is ranked a top 10 medical facility in China and is driving to be a first-rate medical center in the world. It serves as the center for medical care, teaching, research and health consultation and guidance in Zhejiang province. It employs more than 5,700 staffs, including two members of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, three members of the national "Thousand Talents Plan”, three 973 chief scientists, three members of Chang Jiang Scholars Program. The hospital has more than 3,000 beds, 41 clinical departments, and 23 technical departments.

 About the Chief Editors

The editorial board of Journal of Cerebrovascular Disease is an international group of distinguished researchers.

Editor-in-Chief, Zheng Shu-Sen, is a professor and physician of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University. He was elected as a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2001. Professor Zheng is active in basic and clinical research, especially in immunology of organ transplantation, graft injury and preservation. At present, he is responsible for two national projects and eight provincial projects in his specialties. He is a winner of two national science awards and five provincial prizes for science and technology advancement, and published over 400 papers in core national or international medical journals and several monographs. He holds many governmental or organizational positions, including Chairman of the Chinese Medical Association of Organ Transplant, member of the Life Science Committee, Ministry of Education and director of Key Laboratory of Multi-Organ Transplantation, Ministry of Health, China, and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Yang Yun-Mei, is a professor and director of geriatric department in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University. Under her leadership, the geriatric department has been elected as the National Clinical Specialty Construction Project, the Key Discipline of Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the National Clinical Pharmacology Base. Professor Yang is an expert in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease, especially critical illness in elderly people. Currently, she holds many governmental and organizational positions, including standing director of the Chinese Society of Gerontology, standing committee member of the China Geriatric Medical Center Union, deputy director of the micro ecology of digestion branch of Chinese Preventive Medical Association, deputy director of the geriatric medical branch in Zhejiang province. Professor Yang presided several National Natural Science Funds, provincial and ministerial projects; she also participated in the national “973” projects, national health industry funds. Professor Yang is a winner of Chinese Physician Prize in 2015 and the best physician in Zhejiang province. She also received several science and technology progress prizes of Zhejiang province, medical science and technology innovation prizes, outstanding scientific research achievements in Zhejiang province.
